One of the most hard tasks for panoramic photographer is creating car interior 360s in magazine quality, where showcasing a super realistic picture is required. Such virtual tour represents car interior in impeccable and presentable form, where every piece of interior and the texture of materials should be visible clearly, and colors of finishing — correspond to reality.

Work in tight space of a car interior along with complex light conditions are just the simplest problems that a photographer has to solve, when creating car 360s. In addition, at each stage of work there are also many other tasks and nuances — when shooting panoramas, when stitching them, and, finally, when making post-processing.

The most important part of the process of creating a car virtual tour is photo shooting. Dirt, unknown objects in the salon, asymmetrical placement of seats or steering wheel, ceiling light that turned on irrelevantly, and other, seemingly little things, can send the footage to the trash basket and make it inappropriate for further processing. The main task during the shooting process is to provide smooth, soft lighting of the salon, for the interior details couldn’t disappear either in shadows or in lights. In this case you need to get a balance between the outdoor and internal light, and also between the lighting of devices and buttons. Often it needs to compensate for the differences in level and shade of lighting on the front and the rear of the car, due to the different density of glass tinting. Focusing requires careful adjustment — in the car panorama you need to make an extremal depth of field. This means that all the details of the interior should be in focus: as the ones that are in a few inches from the lens, as the others that are located in the background…
